Hair Style

Well, the summer months are falling behind us and the winter months are quickly approaching. While many people are beginning their early Christmas shopping, the majority of women are not looking forward to the hat head and dehydrated hair associated with winter. This winter, hit the ground running with a few winter hair care tips you didn't know.

The Hat Head

Alright, you know that winter is cold and inevitably you will have to deal with hat head from time to time. The worst part about hat head is not the fact that you need to wear a hat, they can actually be quite stylish, it is the static that is associated with the hat after your remove it.

This winter try sticking to a cotton hat instead of those wool hats you are used to. The wool hat produces far more static electricity than the cotton hat. When wearing a cotton winter hat you will be able to keep just as warm without dealing with the fly aways after you remove the hat.

Detangle With Ease

The dehydration of the skin associated with winter wreaks the same havoc on the hair. After getting out of the shower, towel dry your locks gently. Spray a leave in conditioner into the hair and comb through using a wide toothed comb. When you encounter a knot, be gentle with the hair and do not tug the comb through further damaging the hair and possibly the root.

For added moisture, try mayonnaise or eggs on the hair. These natural moisture trappers will keep the hair soft and moist all winter long.

This winter keep those locks beautiful and static free with these little known hair care tips. Just because the winter months are upon us does not mean we have to live with unsightly hair until spring.

All kinds of hair care products are available on the market today. You have your products for blondes, brunettes, redheads, frizz, waves; color-treated hair… the list goes on for miles. It can become very overwhelming to try and find a product that you like, and different products will react differently for different hair types. This is generally what keeps the hair care product industry rolling. Instead of wasting tons of money on products that may or may not help you hair to look and feel any better than it does now, why not try a natural homemade hair care product? Since you are making it, you know what goes into it. Can you honestly pronounce half of the ingredients on your shampoo bottle? Eventually your stylist will notice the waxy build up presented by several of the more well known products on the market.

To get started making your natural hair care products, all you need to do is be a little creative. Do not try to mix too many things at one time; (you should limit to two until you figure out how the concoction works for you), and have fun while you do it. The products you will need are likely already in your kitchen or bathroom, so you will save money no matter how large your hair care budget may be.

When deciding what ingredients to use, keep this general rule of thumb in mind. If you can ingest it safely, you are safe to use it on your hair. These are ingredients like fruit, cider vinegar, honey, and even beer. You can experiment with essential oils for fragrance, but remember that a few drops will go a long way.
Mix and test your ingredients, being sure to take note of what worked well and what did not. Search around for recipes that are geared toward your specific purpose. If you need a clarifying formula, you are definitely going to want to use different ingredients than say a deep cleansing conditioner.

Any failures you experience will only bring you closer to the magic organic formula that you customized for your hair and rather than becoming upset at your “failure” realize that in setting out to create one thing, you may have created something even better! The worst that can happen when experimenting with all natural ingredients is that you will just have to wash your hair again.

Choosing Perfect Hairstyle

If your like most women, you are always searching for a new hairstyle either for a special occasion or just for a new look. Are there any guidelines that can help with choosing a hairstyle? Yes there are many, but we will tell you a few here for choosing hairstyles.

First of all you must be honest with yourself! In general you will want to accentuate your best features and minimize your least favorite when choosing a hairstyle. For instance if you have larger forehead than you might want to have bangs, but if you have the most beautiful eyes than you dont want to cover them up with bangs.

Look at your face shape! Hairstyles for rounder faces would normally be longer, possibly shoulder length, to minimize the width of your face. On the other hand a hairstyle for a longer faces could be shorter with bangs with hair flipped outward to give your face a wider appearence.

No matter what hairstyle you are searching for, the next best advice we can give is look at our hairstyle galleries and find pictures of women with similar face shapes and features. Print the pictures and show them to your hairstylist for some expert advice specific for your face shape and desired hairstyle.

Hairstyles for Round Faces

If you have a round face, there are certain hairstyles that you want to look at, and there are some styles that you will want to avoid as well. But first, you will need to determine whether you do have a round face or not. First, you will need a soft tape measure to take a few measurements of your face. Measure the face across the top of the cheekbones first. Then, measure your jaw line from the widest point on the side of your jaw to the widest point on the opposite side. Next, measure the tip of your face line to the bottom on your chin. And finally, measure across your forehead at the widest point (usually between the eyebrows and hairline). If you have a round face, you will have fullness at and below the cheekbones.

The best hairstyles for a round face will include features such as layered bangs, short styles that heighten the look of the crown, adding length under the chin, keeping hair closer to the face, and curls around the crown to create height. Really long styles can also benefit a round face by giving it a more slender shape.

For those with a larger round face, you will want to keep the hair around your face above chin level. This will draw the eyes upward and away from the chin. A bob is a hairstyle you might want to consider. And if you are dealing with other physical features, such as a short neck, you can grow out the back of your hair a little longer in order to make the neck appear longer.

And cuts are not the only style factor that can help to make the shape of your face work for you. You can get highlights that are woven around the face to create a halo effect. This will make the round face look more slender.
